The Academy Day

At Sheffield Springs Academy, our daily routines, expectations and structures are designed to help every student succeed.

By working in partnership with families - and by following our values of Respect, Excellence, Ambition and Pride - we ensure students are ready to learn, feel supported and take pride in being part of our school community.

School Lunches

We know that eating well throughout the day helps students stay focused, energised and ready to learn. Our dining team provides a wide choice of hot meals, salads, sandwiches and ‘Grab and Go’ options every day. Drinks are also available.

Free School Meals (FSM)

Many families are surprised to learn they may be eligible for Free School Meals. Every day, children across Sheffield miss out on the support they are entitled to.

We strongly encourage parents and carers to check if they qualify. Eligible families can apply here (Free school meals | Sheffield City Council).

Children may be entitled to Free School Meals if their parent or carer receives any of the following:

  • Universal Credit (with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400)
  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income related Employment Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (annual household income below £16,190 and not receiving Working Tax Credit)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for four weeks after eligibility ends)

How Students Pay for Lunch

All payments for meals are made through Arbor.
