Year 10 Exams

At Sheffield Springs Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child  reaches their potential; a key element of this involves our Year 10 students sitting examinations in June 2026 to fully prepare them for Year 11. This allows students to experience and become accustomed to the formal exam setting and to recognise the organisation and preparation involved in revising for multiple subjects.

Mock Fortnight: Tuesday 16 June to Friday 26 June 2026.

A full timetable, detailing exactly when each mock exam will take place, is linked below. Students are expected to highlight where their own examinations occur and then share this with their parents/carers at home.

A ‘booster’ session will take place in school immediately before each examination which will remind students of the key techniques, they need for success in the exam prior to entering the exam hall. It is crucial that students arrive at school by 8.25am to ensure they do not miss the key information in these booster events.

Your child’s teachers will discuss the mock examinations with them and recommend different ways they can approach their revision. Subject specific revision was also handed out by all subjects this week. Students are expected to plan and follow their own revision timetable over the next few weeks as they work towards these mock examinations. Students should already be revising for these mock examinations.

Revision Tips and Advice

Year 10 students should have started their revision work to support them in maximising their
outcomes in the mock examinations. We would highly advise the following:

  • Using revision guides/ packs written specifically for the courses and examinations that
    students are completing.
  • Completing weekly homework in core departments.
  • Creating a ‘revision timetable’.
  • Creating and using revision ‘flashcards’ – students will be briefed on how to do this.

Please do get in contact with us if you or your child needs any further support around revision
planning and revision methods.
