As Executive Director of the sister Academies in Sheffield,I am delighted to welcome you to the Website for the Sheffield Springs Academy
My role is to lead and be responsible for the two Academies - Sheffield Springs Academy and Sheffield Park Academy.
This is a very exciting development for the communities of the two Academies which will provide the widest possible number of courses across the 11-19 age range. This is the first time in the country that two Academies with the same sponsor in the same city or town have been opened, led by an Executive Director.
Sheffield Springs Academy opened in September 2006 and replaced the former Myrtle Springs School. The academy moved into its state-of-the-art and fully equipped buildings in 2008.
In September 2007, a collaborative and complementary Sixth Form opened in association with Sheffield Park Academy. A separate Sixth Form prospectus is available.
Sheffield Springs Academy will expand to 1350 (11-19) pupils and students. It has a specialism of Performing Arts underpinned by Business and Enterprise. The combined Sixth Form across the two Sheffield Academies caters for 550 students of all abilities and provides opportunities for all students who wish to progress on to post-16 education. Following their time in the Sixth Form, students will move on to employment, further training or university.
