As the first stage of the BiG Challenge draws to a close,
participating teams are preparing their final reports ready for submission. The
teams took the chance to make some final sales during the trade fayre held on
Tuesday 11th during lunchtime and two of our teams sold out
completely at the event. Out of the original 10 teams, four have made it
through to the end of the competition: Recipes Worldwide, Sweet Treats, Green
fingers and Jarful. All of these teams have produced really good products
and made a profit.
We were visited by Nathan Delves, Recycling and Innovations
director from Veolia Sheffield and Liz Yoxall from BiG challenge who viewed the
stalls and gave the students some feedback on their business and completing
their final report. Nathan enjoyed the event immensely and offered to coach the
teams further should the make it through to the final stages of the
competition.
