Jellybean Camper Vans

A group of enterprising year 9 students are working with local company Jellybean Camper Vans to help the company strengthen their online marketing campaign. The students met Nicola Marshall, company director who brought the van 'Jethro' to the academy for students to see first hand. The company have plans to expand their base and increase the number of camper vans they lease. No doubt with the help of our enterprising year 9 students, world domination will be a certainty for the company!

Y8 Rounders Success!

Last night we took the Y8 to a Rounders tournament at Ecclesfield.  We had a troublesome start with 3 of the team deciding not to play and a broken ankle!  A massive thank you to Courtney Penney, Reagan Bincliffe, Holly Preskey and Phoebe Woodliffe who stepped in last minute.

We had a really tough draw but we played Ecclesfield in the first game, where we drew 4-4 on rounders but we took the win on outs, we then met King Ecberts and Sheffield High School where the girls played brilliantly and were complimented on their fielding tactics by both schools but unfortunately we lost both games, 1 ½ - 5.

A big thank you to our mascot Georgia Evans for cheering us on from the side lines with Miss Grant.

Congratulations team!

U14 Girls School League

On Monday 8th June we played the opening rounders game against Hansdworth, we didn’t get into the first innings as quickly as we should but the second innings was much better both in tactics and skill.  We unfortunately lost 9 – 5 in the end but the girls were a credit to the school and we look forward to our next match.

Congratulations team!

Under 13's United Learning Football Tournament

Yesterday we took a group of students to the United Learning's Under 13's girls football tournament. The girls showed great spirit and enjoyment throughout the day. Although the girls didn’t manage to win any of their games, we did score to fantastic goals; one from Courtney Penny and the other from Evie Hodgkins.

Congratulations Team!

School Council Elections

Over the past month we have been running student council elections in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. Students who wanted to be elected put their names forward and prepared a video persuading the other students to vote for them. Over 85% of students took the opportunity to take part in the democratic process  and vote for the student they thought would best represent them – a greater percentage than the turnout for the General Election. The winners were: - Year 7, Isabelle Donnelly and Carly Boldy; Year 8, Reagan Bintcliffe and Jack Warwick; Year 9, Daniel Grabowski and Amber Cheetham; Year 10, Gabrielle Ndiomo and Lauren Fletcher. Congratulations!

All the staff would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to every single student who put themselves forward  – it takes courage to persuade people to vote for you and it shows you care about the future of your school.
