Dear Parents and Carers

We are delighted to welcome back our students after the summer break.

Thank you to all parents for supporting us in our uniform policy, we have attached a copy for your information and trust that you will ensure your son/daughter arrives to school smart in appearance. We have had a positive start and look forward to this continuing.  You can also support us by ensuring:

  • Your child leaves for school on time  and with the correct equipment
  • The Student Planner is used to send in any notes or requests to the form tutor
  • Check that your child is completing any extended learning (homework) when set
  • Where possible we would be grateful if appointments with staff could be made out of school hours
  • That your child(ren) is aware that energy drinks are not permitted within the Academy

Your first point of contact will be the Form Tutor (via the planner or a phone call) and then the Head of Year.  The Heads of Year are as follows:

Year 7                                    Mrs A Linley

Year 8                                    Miss A Grant

Year 9                                    Miss S Smith

Year 10 and 11                   Mr S Cliffe

It is important we let you know of changes to our illness procedures. Should your child feel unwell at school and staff deem it necessary that they be sent home we will contact you as soon as possible. However students will only be sent home if a parent or carer collects them from the academy. This is to avoid the student being unwell and unsupervised.

The Local Governing Body (LGB) plays an important role in both supporting the Academy and challenging staff and students to make progress and bring out ‘The Best in Everyone’. In the past our parent governors have brought to our meetings valuable insights into the views of students and the wider community the Academy serves.  Discretion, a sense of responsibility to all the young people in our community and an understanding of confidentiality are vital to this role.  If you are interested in standing for election, please contact Mrs Cook; Clerk to the LGB at by Friday 19th September.

Yours sincerely                        Yours sincerely                  Yours sincerely
