Sheffield Springs Academy put its Year 11 pupils through their paces at a recent residential, helping prepare them for their summer exams.
Taking place over the weekend of the 21st/22nd April at the Conway Centre in Wales, the event was aimed at helping pupils to revise core exam content, as well as providing opportunities for developing team building and motivational skills.
In addition to revising key exam content, the 73 pupils involved took part in a range of activities including night-lining (a blindfolded assault course), raft-building, kayaking, high ropes and climbing. All pupils and staff also took part in a traditional camp-fire, with music, singing and, of course, marshmallows!
Commenting on the residential, Sheffield Springs Academy’s Head of School Mark Shipman, who took part, said:
“As always, this is an important time for our Year 11 students and this latest revision residential was the ideal way to help prepare them for their exams, as well as helping them to develop new skills."
