Dear Parents and Carers
As we prepare to return to the Academy after what we hope has been an enjoyable summer, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some important information. Please discuss this with your child in order that we may have a smooth and settled start in September:

It is important that all students are ready for learning. Please ensure your son/daughter has the basic necessary equipment:
Suitable Bag (large enough to hold an A4 file)
Pen – black or blue
PE kit (PE top with logo – available from Pinders, black PE shorts, navy socks, optional dark outdoor rugby shirt with logo/dark outdoor jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and trainers.)
The target for every student is to aim to achieve 100%. Our reason for this target and the relentless focus on this area of school life is due to the clear link between attendance to school and students making good progress with their learning. Students will only learn and make progress if they come to school. We would like to remind you that as of September any student whose attendance is below 90% will be classed as a “persistent absentee” by the Department for Education.
Behaviour for Learning
We would like to thank you for your continued support in ensuring that your son/daughter is aware of and cooperates with the Behaviour for Learning policy. The policy is available on our website, we would be grateful if you could take some time to revisit this with your child.
All students will be issued with a planner. The planner will contain useful information and will also be where students will record their extended learning tasks. We ask that you review your child’s planner every day. The school planner is a compulsory piece of equipment for all students and will act as their “passport” in order to access privileges in school. It will not be acceptable for students to leave their planner at home as they will lose various entitlements, for example, with no planner, students will be last in the queue at breaks and lunchtimes. A charge will be incurred for lost planners.
POINT OF CONTACT
Should you require any information, have any questions, comments or concerns please contact your child’s form tutor in the first instance. Details of which will be available on our website from September.
