Get on your bike....for Sports Relief!

Event date: 24/03/2014 Export event

A group of year 8 students, led by Amber Cheetham, organised and successfully completed a 10 mile sponsored bike ride around Rother Valley on Monday 24th March.  Together they accumulated a respectable £177.  The group: Amber Cheetham, Bethany Howard, Bailey Bedford and Jordan Holdsworth, had a beautiful day to enjoy their bike ride and any cool breeze was soon forgotten in their efforts to complete the course. They have certainly earned the right to brag about any sore limbs!  Thanks also go to Craig Malkin; without his help the bike ride would not have been possible.

As a whole, the Academy have raised a satisfactory £479, this has been a combined effort from all students from year 7 to 6th form. Activities on the day included: cake sales, tug-of-war competition, penalty shoot-outs, sponsored silence and even students going around with a bucket for loose change.

Well done and thank you to all students and staff involved in this successful fundraising event.
