Application for annual holiday leave of absence

If the holiday cannot be taken during the school holidays, students may have leave of absence of up to ten days for one annual holiday in term time. Applications must be submitted four weeks before the intended departure.


Requests will be assessed by the Principal. Parents/carers will be notified of the Principal’s decision.


Leave of absence for holiday will not be authorised if:

  • attendance is less than 85%
  • the student has already had ten days holiday absence during the current academic year
  • the student is currently being monitored by an Education Welfare Officer

Students who have ten days holiday absence can only attain 94.7% attendance for that whole academic year.
