Entries, entry details, late entries and retakes

Entries
Candidates are selected for their exam entries by the Curriculum Area Leaders.

A candidate or parent/carer can request a subject entry, change of level or withdrawal.

The Academy does accept entries from external candidates.

Entries are then to be quality assured by Assistant Principal.

KS4 Exam Entry Policy

• All students at Sheffield Springs Academy have the right to be entered for examinations if they begin, continually attend and complete a GCE, GCSE, BTEC or other KS4 course in any subject.
  

Late entries
Entry deadlines are circulated to Curriculum Area Leaders via email.

Late entries are authorised by the Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Principal.

Retakes
Candidates are allowed 2 retakes per subject in GCSE.
Candidates are allowed 2 retakes per subject in AS.
Candidates are allowed 2 retakes per subject in A2.

Retake decisions will be made in consultation with the candidates, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Principal and Curriculum Area Leaders.
