BBC School Report
On Tuesday, 8th March, fourteen Year 8 and 10 students were invited to the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena where the World Speed Skating short Track championships were taking place. Their job was to produce a report for the BBC School Report project.
They worked extremely hard and were a credit to the academy.
On Thursday 24th March our budding team of journalists produced their very own news bulletin. Listen to the report below.

Today we spent the morning in the school LRC, planning and writing a news bulletin for BBC School Report. We covered the following: entertainment, international, national and local news, as well as sport and weather. We recorded our news bulletin ready to put on the school website.
The students involved in this project were Year 8s: Devon, Emily, Eleanor, Millie, Elizabeth, Rhianna, Richard, Eve, Molly, Jasmine, Francesca, James and Tara, and Year 10 Katie.
We spent all morning searching today’s newspapers for interesting news to report on, as well as things we knew our listeners would enjoy knowing more about.
Everyone who took part in this project really enjoyed it, and if an opportunity like this came up again the same people would definitely be happy to participate.
