Music

The main music room is an excellent rehearsal venue for rock groups, singers and small vocal/instrumental ensembles.  It houses a quality drum kit,  PA for vocals, guitar and keyboard amplifiers as well as guitars and a stage piano.  There is a Yamaha CI grand piano for individual practice or esemble rehearsal.  The suite of three practice rooms is available for breakout rehearsal; each has a piano.

The recording studio is state-of-the-art with a Mackie 24.8 Mixing Desk and a host of professional microphones.  Also available are outboard effects and dynamic processes, mastering and duplication facilities, Adat HD24hard drive recording device and an Apple Mac running Logic Pro 8 and Cubase 4.  Recording can take place from both the music classrooms and an acoustically controlled live room.

The iMac suite has a network of 16 iMac computers running music software including Sibelius 5, Logic 8 Express, Cubase 4 and Garage Band.  It is an ideal space for running workshops in musical composition, midi arrangements, film editing and soundtrack production.  This suite also includes an interactive whiteboard and a teacher's console allowing control over each individual workstation.

Sheffield Yamaha Music School is based here at Sheffield Springs Academy.  The highly successful Yamaha teaching methods are employed and a graded system of progressive lessons is available.  Lessons are available for all age groups.
