HEALTH & WELLBEING

The Health and Social Care sector is currently going through lots of changes with new focuses on the sector and government initiatives giving it a higher profile than ever.

Our department aims to link the curriculum to priorities in healthcare and childcare such as being more responsive to the needs of service users and educating service users on a healthy diet and lifestyle in order to avoid ill health.

The Health and Wellbeing Department offers the following courses:

KS4:

BTEC Level 2 in Health and Social Care
CACHE Level 2   Award/Certificate/Diploma in Child Care and Education

KS5:

BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary diploma in Health and Social Care (Equivalent to 1 GCE)
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Equivalent to 3 GCE’s)
CACHE Level 2   Award/Certificate/Diploma in Child Care and Education

Work Experience:

As we offer vocational qualifications we are keen for our learners to gain valuable experience working with clients in the sector of their choice. We have strong links with many providers locally and in the city.
