As part of our SMSC programme at Sheffield Springs Academy,
we ask our year 7 students to have an acting role in fundraising. Apart from whole school activities, such as
Children in Need, poppy day and other national charity events, our year 7
students choose 3 charities: one local, one national and one
international. Although we still have to
choose our national and international charities for this year, our students
have chosen St Luke’s Hospice as our local charity. We are very fortunate that a representative
from St Luke’s has agreed to work with us in our fund raising activities.
Last year the Academy raised a respectable £1,300 in total
for all charity events. This included our chosen charities: Sheffield
Children’s Hospital, MacMillan cancer care and Oxfam, all receiving cheques for
